ECOSISTEMA URBANO COMPITE POR EL Buckminster Fuller Challenge.

Ecosistema Urbano anuncia que su proyecto PROTOTIPO URBANO PLAZA ECÓPOLIS, compite en el Concurso Internacional Buckminster Fuller Challenge.Este concurso está considerado como “el premio más importante en diseño de responsabilidad social” por la revista Metrópolis. El BFC es un programa anual de premios internacionales que concede 100.000$ para el apoyo, desarrollo y aplicación de soluciones que aborden alguno de los problemas más acuciantes de la humanidad.

Nuestro proyecto tiene como objetivo proporcionar una solución sostenible para el tratamiento de las aguas residuales en contextos urbanos, transformándolas en agua purificada, mediante sistemas naturales (macrofitas) para su posterior reutilización. La idea es poder incorporar dicho sistema en espacios residuales de la ciudad, buscando una integración que proporcione un valor añadido al entorno urbano. continue reading

WASTE TO RESOURCES- URBAN PROTOTYPE PLAZA ECOPOLIS led by ecosistema urbano is proud to announce our submission to the Buckminster Fuller Challenge. Named “Socially-Responsible Design’s Highest Award” by Metropolis Magazine, the Challenge is an annual international prize program that awards $100,000 to support the development and implementation of a solution that has significant potential to solve humanity’s most pressing problems.

We are thrilled to be a part of the Buckminster Fuller Challenge review process, which brings together influential design science leaders such as Josè Zaglul, Vandana Shiva, Danny Hillis, William McDonough, John Thackara and Hunter Lovins.

ecosistema urbano lecturing in Berlin. Closing event FORMULA_X DAZ-Berlin

Next February 18th a closing event for the FORMULA_X  exhibition series will take place at the Deutsche Architektur Zentrum DAZ in Berlin.

A brief lecture by each of the participating teams: Plasma Studio (Londres), ecosistema urbano (Madrid),  y AFF Architekten (Berlín) will be followed by an open discussion moderated by Kristien Ring, DAZ Director and curator of the exhibition.

The event will start at 19.00 at the Deutsches Architektur Zentrum, Köpenicker Str 48/49, 10179 Berlin-Mitte
Free admission.

USDE | segundo encuentro puertas abiertas

Como os comentábamos la semana pasada, nuestro modelo de educación expandida para el proyecto Urban Social Design Experience quiere llegar a ser  B-Learning, es decir un proceso docente semipresencial; esto significa que un curso pueda lelgar a tener tanto clases presenciales como actividades de E-learning.

En esta primera sesión de USDE nos centramos sobretodo en la parte online(Febrero > Mayo 2011), sinemabrgo en la medida de lo posible intentaremos acompañar  las sesiones online con eventos y encuentros presenciales.

Este viernes 4 de febrero (antes del cierre de las matrícula del 7 de Febrero) organizamos un encuentro informal que tendrá lugar de 19h a 22h en el estudio Ecosistema Urbano. Abriremos las puertas de la oficina para recibir a todos los interesados en Urban Social Design Experience. Animamos a todos aquellos que tengan dudas, preguntas o quieran saber más sobre el funcionamiento de los cursos a participar en este encuentro, en Calle Estanislao Figueras, 6 de Madrid. El blog Ecosistema Urbano vuelve a “correr”

Los lectores habituales de este blog se han encontrado durante las últimas semanas con repetidos problemas a la hora de acceder a la Web: el blog ha funcionando realmente mal. Los problemas se debían a un malfuncionamiento del servidor alojado en las “maquinas” de Godaddy en Estados Unidos.

Cuando empezamos con este blog contratamos un servicio que nos ofrecía grandes prestaciones a un precio razonable. Con el tiempo el numero de usuarios y el trafico generado por el blog ha crecido tanto que el servicio de Web hosting contratado ya no parece dar la talla. continue reading

eu at DAZ exhibition completed

We have inaugurated the exhibition at DAZ, and now we can show you a bit of how it looks, as well as how it has been produced.

The whole exhibition comes inside a suitcase and a bag (that you can take with you as hand luggage on the plane).

The big pictures on the wall are made of A4 self-adhesive papers, stuck one next to each other.

The drawings are made directly on the walls of the exhibition room with markers in two colours (COPIC markers: tahitian blue + salmon red). These colours are compatible with cyan-red 3d glasses, and allow us to have two different points of view depending on the eye we are blinking.

Finally, we have made a photosynth with all the pictures of the finished exhibition, as the best way to have an idea of how it looks, especially for those who won’t have the opportunity to see it.

Ecosistema urbano lecturing in Chicago

Today December 1st, Belinda Tato (@belindatato) will be lecturing at Instituto Cervantes of Chicago, presenting ecosistema urbano’s latest works in the context of Madrid’s recent urban transformation. The lecture is within a series that showcases the most recent urban transformation of Spanish cities: Bilbao, Barcelona and Madrid. Other participants have been Ibon Areso, and Eduard Bru.

Ecosistema Urbano en Argentina

Esta tarde Jose Luis Vallejo presentará el trabajo de ecosistema urbano en la conferencia que tendrá lugar en la SCA (Sociedad Central de Arquitectos) a las 17.00 horas en Buenos Aires y mañana miércoles en el Auditorio de la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo de la ciudad de Mendoza a las 17.00h.
