eu:abierto – Diego Soroa: R&D creative, industrial and conceptual designer

My name is Diego Soroa, I studied architecture and specialised in Urbanism. I work in Bilbao as an R&D creative and industrial + conceptual designer. I manage the creative lab Cuantics Creatives, I am a consultant for companies and institutions, I often write articles and give lectures.

I am studying the confluence of physical and virtual space and the introduction of technology in the public space to counteract the escape of communication towards the virtual space. I am passionate about biomimetics and about my job in general, and consider myself very fortunate for it.

eu:abierto – Diego Soroa: creativo de I+D y diseñador industrial y de conceptos

Soy Diego Soroa, estudié arquitectura en la especialidad de Urbanismo. Trabajo en Bilbao como creativo de I+D y diseñador industrial y de conceptos. Dirijo el laboratorio creativo Cuantics Creatives y soy asesor de algunas empresas e instituciones, articulista y conferenciante.

Investigo la confluencia del espacio físico y el virtual y el salto de la tecnología al espacio público para contrarrestar la fuga de la comunicación al espacio virtual. Soy un apasionado de la biomimética y de mi actividad en general por lo cual me considero muy afortunado.

Carlos Romo Melgar – eu:abierto

As we have said before, this blog is aimed to be a meeting point for creative people with a capacity for critical análisis. We like these people to have the chance to publish their ideas and thoughts, and obviously their work too. For this purpose we have created eu:abierto.
As part of this section, we want to introduce Carlos Romo Melgar. solar arquitecture – eu:abierto

We want to introduce to you Francesco Tomasi, a new member of ecosistemaurbano:abierto.

My name is Francesco, I am an Italian architect but have lived in Madrid for a long time. Right now I live and work in Viena, in Reinberg’s studio, where all the projects we develop are based on an ecological basis and pursue optimising energy efficiency. Reinberg is a prestigious architect “working” on solar architecture. He works on the complete construction process, from the design to the completion of the project. He has obtained very good results on the construction site in terms of minimising CO2 emissions and energy consumption, as well as reducing the volume of waste. Here it is common to study and use materials such as earth and straw and their possible applications. However, the key idea tends to be making good use of the sun in all possible ways, active solar and passive solar. Reinberg has been one of the initiators and promoters of green houses in architecture, private and public. After finishing a master on eco-sustainable architecture, my interest on this topic has vastly grown and I am aiming to create a website focusing on the subject.

arquitectura solar y fotovoltaica – eu:abierto

Hoy damos la bienvenida al grupo ecosistemaurbano:abierto a Francesco Tomasi.

Me llamo Francesco, soy un arquitecto italiano pero he vivido en Madrid muchos años. En este momento vivo y trabajo en Viena en la oficina de Reinberg donde todos los proyectos parten de un enfoque ecológico y buscan el máximo rendimiento energético. Reinberg es un reconocido arquitecto que “trabaja” la arquitectura solar y fotovoltaica pero sobretodo por que se ocupa de estudiar todo el proceso de construcción, desde el proyecto, pasando por la obra ( donde ha conseguido muy buenos resultados en términos de reducción de emisiones de co2 y gasto energético, así como de reducción de residuos de obra). Aquí se utilizan y se estudian muy a menudo materiales como la tierra o la paja y sus posibles aplicaciones. De todas formas la idea dominante resulta siempre ser el aprovechamiento del sol en todas sus posibles facetas, fotovoltaico, solar activo y solar pasivo. Ha sido uno de los iniciadores y promotores de los invernaderos en la arquitectura tanto pública como privada.Después de terminar un master en arquitectura ecosostenible mi interés hacia este tema se ha enormemente ampliado y estoy intentando montar un web site basado precísamente en el tema.

eu:abierto – Carlos Vial (Plataformaarchitectura.cl)

We want to introduce a new member of the eu:abierto group: My name is Carlos Vial and I live in Santiago de Chile. I study architecture and right now I am finishing my final project, a proposal for the urban rehabilitation of an area in the periphery of the city. The rehabilitation is based on a strategy of systems and operations aimed to enhance the social integration in the area. I am also the editor of a Chilean architecture website [ www.plataformaarquitectura.cl], from where we want to show the present state of architecture in Chile and worldwide, generating a space for discussion and learning.
Recently, my interests have focused on material research and the study of the latest trends in urbanism, seeking a sustainable and pro-active tool.

[ecosistema urbano]:abierto

Some weeks ago, Ecosistema Urbano created an account in Facebook. If you don’t know it yet, Facebook is a social network, a phenomenon that some experts think has the potential to become a giant of the size of google, Yahoo or Amazon.

The motive for opening this account is simple: we want to develop a network of creative people interested on areas related to architecture, city and design; people who constantly think about sustainability in their work, and aim to maintain and increase urban vitality.

We understand this blog as a meeting point for all this people and a social network as the best tool for them to meet and communicate.
For this purpose we have created in Facebook the group [ecosistema urbano]:abierto where all our readers can join in exchange for a text introducing themselves which we will publish in this blog.

We want to meet our readers and we want them to have the possibility to publish in the blog.
