WHAT IF… cities without cars, with public clean transport, with streets become parks as “grandes alamedas por donde pase el hombre libre, para construir una sociedad mejor”?
WHAT IF… the appropiation of abandoned collective buildings and urban spaces was used not only for leisure and entertainment but also for bussines, retail or industry in a “can’t afford an office occupy an abandoned one” way?
WHAT IF… buildings and constructions in cities behaved as vegetable species, suitable and adapted to its environment?
WHAT IF… we re-balanced the occupation of our territory so that all of it was an homogeneous continuity of well balanced mix of rural/urban/industrial/etc heterogeneity?
WHAT IF… the city could have an inherent quality, that would emanicipate its citisens for unnessesary consumption?
WHAT IF… urban public transport was free and funded with the exponentially increasing taxes on private vehicles according to its size and pollutants?
WHAT IF… we used animals instead of lawn mowers?
WHAT IF… public transport was cheaper?
WHAT IF… everyone only had one car and only used it in emergency situations?
WHAT IF… all public and private transport in a city could be hide underneath the soil in order to make an perfect balance between city and nature?
WHAT IF… instead of using 50% of our energy, buildings produced 50% of our energy?
WHAT IF… new urban areas respected the old space-syntax for walkable cities from before the 1930s?
WHAT IF.. cities were one with the nature and their architecture adapted to the habitat for the humanity, of course, being an oxygen balloon to play happy and funny, to be fresh creative?
WHAT IF… architects and urban planners fees were not based on neither building costs nor land area but to its environmental impact per square meter?
WHAT IF… only electric cars (no Co2 emissions, less noise…) were allowed to drive on the cities, and the energy to charge their batteries were provided by renewables sources?
WHAT IF… every neighbour had plants on their windows and balconies?
WHAT IF… houses were gardens and gardens were houses?
WHAT IF… we had no neon signs?
WHAT IF… Cities stop growing?
WHAT IF… new urban areas respected the old space-syntax for walkable cities from before the 1930s?
WHAT IF… everyone lived on high stilts so we could have forest and farming everywhere?

WHAT IF… cities start modifying themselves in real-time, producing their own reactions through processing of the enviromental data?

WHAT IF… cities made room for an urban wilderness?
WHAT IF… organic products were tax-free and non-organic products were taxed additionally?
WHAT IF… sidewalks were soft?
WHAT IF… being citizen meant participation into city issues?
WHAT IF… Cities start consuming exactly the same amount of energy and materials that they can sustainable produce?
WHAT IF… city planners planned for shrinkage as they did for growth?
WHAT IF… all the squares were surrounded by pedestrian areas?
WHAT IF… cities relied solely on the resources within their existing boundaries?
WHAT IF… we accept that the function of cities, like organism, is to be reactive rather than proactive: we would be more respectful of our urban environment?
WHAT IF… a city primary mode of mobility was the bicycle, made possible by an infrastrcuture of evelated bikeways that act as highways do for cars.
WHAT IF… the real message behind the sustainability is “question everything” to start again through the desire for healing?
WHAT IF… cities had rules that all rooves should include solar panels for running hot water heaters and thermal glass in windows?
WHAT IF… we just couldn´t turn around and walk away?
