ECOSISTEMA URBANO LEADING WORKSHOP AT FESTARCH-LAB 2011

Ecosistema Urbano has been invited to lead a workshop (FESTARCH-LAB) at the international architectural event, curated by Stefano Boeri, FESTARCH 2011 (festarch.it) to be held at various locations in the Italian region of Umbria (Terni, Perugia and Assisi) between May 26th and June 5th 2011.

Jose Luis Vallejo (@jlvmateo) and Domenico Di Siena (@urbanohumano) from ecosistema urbano will be guiding a group of 30 young european architects, students, artist and local citizens to experience the complexity of the city.

Weeks ago through this post (COME WITH US TO FESTARCH-LAB 2011 !!!!!!! ), we launched a call for participants and thanks to our blog followers the response has been very succesful. The selected people will be granted with free registration and accomodation.

The workshop will take place in Terni (100km north of Rome), from May 27th to June 1st  2011.
Next Saturday 28th of May 19.30 there will be an open lecture around ecosistema urbano work at CAOS center Terni.
We’ll be glad to meet some of ecosistema urbano blog readers.

VIENI CON NOI AL FESTARCH-LAB 2011!!!!!!!

Ecosistema Urbano é stato invitato a coordinare un laboratorio (FESTARCH-LAB) all’interno del Festival Internazionale di Architettura, diretto da Stefano Boeri, FESTARCH 2011 (festarch.it) che si svolgerà in diverse località dell’Umbria (Terni, Perugia e Assisi) dal 26 maggio al 5 giugno 2011.

Il laboratorio che coordineremo si incentrerà sulla  sperimentazione della complessità urbana attraverso l’interazione con la città ed i suoi cittadini. Allo stesso tempo affronteremo possibili soluzioni  creative e partecipative alle varie situazioni della realtà urbana contemporanea. continue reading

The workshop will focus on experiencing the urban complexity while interacting with the city and its citizens. At the same time we’ll try to approach the contemporary urban environment by creative and participatory solutions.

URBACT ANNUAL CONFERENCE. LIEGE Nov30th- Dec1st

This year the URBACT Annual Conference will take place in Liege in Belgium, from Tuesday 30 November noon to Wednesday 1 December noon in Liege Conference Centre. The event will bring together URBACT partners and urban actors coming from all over Europe. Interactivity will be the keyword: each participant will have the opportunity to coproduce the conference outputs. The Conference will be introduced by Johannes Hahn, European Commissioner responsible for Regional Policy, Charles Picqué, Minister-President of the Brussels Capital-Region and Mercedes Caballero, Chairwoman of the URBACT Monitoring Committee.

All participants will discuss the urban challenges and innovative, integrated and sustainable solutions during the URBACT conference. Each interactive workshop will involve a panel of speakers and time will be equally divided: 50% for speakers – 50% for discussions with the participants. Fringe workshops will be organised by URBACT Projects themselves. continue reading

CONFERENCIA ANUAL URBACT. LIEJA, 30 Nov.-1 Dic.

Este año la Conferencia Anual de URBACT tendrá lugar en Lieja, Bélgica, desde las 12.00 horas del martes 30 de noviembre hasta las 12.00 horas del miércoles 1 de diciembre en el Palacio de Congresos de Lieja. El evento reunirá a los socios de URBACT y actores urbanos procedentes de toda Europa. La interactividad será la palabra clave: cada participante tendrá la oportunidad de coproducir los resultados de la conferencia. La Conferencia será presentada por Johannes Hahn, Comisario  Europeo responsable de la Política Regional; Charles Picqué, Presidente de la Región de Bruselas-Capital y Mercedes Caballero, presidenta de la Comisión de Seguimiento URBACT.

Todos los participantes analizarán los desafíos urbanos y las soluciones sostenibles, innovadoras e integradas  durante la conferencia. Cada taller interactivo incluirá un panel de ponentes y el tiempo se repartirá de manera equitativa entre ponentes y participantes al 50% . Los proyectos URBACT organizarán sus propios talleres.

Las sesiones plenarias serán traducidas a siete idiomas: Inglés, francés, alemán, italiano, polaco, español y holandés. Los talleres se realizarán en Inglés.

City Room – La creatività scende in piazza!

City Room é il marchio che gli studenti dello IED di Roma hanno creato durante il workshop diretto da Ecosistema Urbano (Domenico Di Siena).

Il titolo del workshop era: Roma Città Open Source – Rimettiamo “in gioco” il codice di programmazione della città aperto alla partecipazione di tutti i cittadini.

La presentazione del workshop:
Il workshop sará un momento di riflessione, di proposta e soprattutto di azione, sugli spazi pubblici della città abbandonati e dimenticati; in particolare si presterà attenzione agli aspetti della mobilità, della gestione dei residui, dell’ acqua, dell’ energia, dell’ educazione ambientale e delle reti sociali esistenti in loco.
Promuoveremo azioni nel tessuto urbano consolidato, dove “piccole proposte” possono generare grandi cambiamenti e aumentare la complessità urbana. L’obiettivo del workshop sará dare vita ad azioni capaci di rivitalizzare uno spazio pubblico urbano coinvolgendo nel contempo gli abitanti del luogo. In questo modo si gettano le basi per una città dove i cittadini abbiano un ruolo attivo nella creazione dello spazio pubblico e nei processi di decisione locale.
